At 8pm in the ballroom we will be joined by flamenco dancers Ryan Rockmore and Nina Kunimoto for enchanting night of flamenco. Then on Sunday, Aug. 5th we will be opening up for Argentine-American singer-songwriter Diego Garcia at Schenectady’s Central Park as a part of the Music Haven Concert Series. We have spent several months looking for the right location for an Albany performance. We are excited to say that we have found a new venue where we will performing our first event of the New Year. On First Friday in January we will be sharing a special performance at The Steamer 10 Theater.

This performance feature new work we gathered during our flamenco studies in Spain this summer. With grant support from The Giving Tree Foundation, we traveled to Andalusia, Spain where we studied at two amazing flamenco schools, El Centro de Arte y Flamenco and Taller Flamenco. This will be our first time performing this work in the Capital Region since our return.

We will also be collaborating with flamenco dancer Nina Kunimoto. Nina is based in Brattleboro, VT, and has studied flamenco dance around the world, including her ancestral homelands of Spain and Japan. We first had the honor of collaborating with Nina in Brattleboro for performance in October. She also joined us for a song during our Troy performance with Taina Asili y la Banda Rebelde in November. We are excited to bring her to Albany for this special performance.. Click here for details and tickets.
